CaixaBI's target market comprises large Companies and large Corporate Groups, Public Institutes and Local Authorities, Institutional Investors as well as Developers of major Investment Projects.

As the CGD Group’s specialised investment banking unit, CaixaBI has been developing its activity in pursuit of its key strategic goals, operating in line with the Group’s commercial structures in maximising cross-selling opportunities with commercial banking activity.

The aim is to create a dynamic international business platform, with particular focus on Portugal, Spain, Brazil and the Portuguese-speaking African countries, based on a model that comprises business areas with a strong sectoral specialization, endowed with services and solutions with growing quality and innovation, which make up a relevant offer of investment banking products.

CaixaBI's strategy

Consolidating its leading position in the Portuguese Investment Banking market;
Positioning CaixaBI as a service provider;
Exploring the cross-selling potential with CGD's commercial units, providing CGD's customers with high value-added services that complement the offer provided by the other business units of the Group;
Contributing actively to manage the credit risk of the CGD Group, providing consultancy services in corporate reorganization processes, in order to prevent events of default and minimizing the corresponding impacts;
Supporting CGD Group's Customers business growth, both in the domestic market and as part of their internationalization strategies, focusing in markets where the Group already has a strong presence, providing the Group's Customers with a portfolio of comprehensive, diversified and high value-added services and benefiting from a privileged knowledge of the local markets;
Placing the CGD Group as a reference entity in the support to innovation and entrepreneurship, also contributing to the development of the competitiveness of the domestic economy and to job creation.
